"Shiver" • Fever Ray (by Kate Oden)

On a hot day the ‘phones sweatlodge the ears,

searing a cedar beat –

Fever Ray, gum and turps, plexer spice,

pickle-dicing the movie road.

Cold decades dead my dancing but

all red I’m glancing at

The prattling cars and

Juicing the torrid sound, lips taut
