"Staring at the Sun" • TV on the Radio (by Milton)

morning spilling through your earrings.  shame pouring from my feet

to my guts

every time i say your name.

night on the bus after death.

night on the bus

after trying to tell i love you

but i never come through.

burning sores on my hands on my throat.

i wanted to be home.

i wanted to be brave.

Milton (he/she) is an Italian poet and storyteller. He's currently a student in modern and contemporary literature, as well as deeply involved in her city's queer and transfeminist radical movements. In his poems, he likes to explore gender, queerness and the feeling of shame, and greatly enjoys using arson as a metaphor. She can be found on Instagram at @asdogsdo.
